How Do We Deal with Our Financial Crisis?
Some say that our country faces the most severe financial crisis in our history. We are so thankful for your partnership in continued support and are praying for you as you confront the economic crises facing the nation. We have not been immune from the economic downturn.
We are very appreciative of your generosity, but as partners, feel we need to let you know how the economy is affecting own personal finances. Three of our supporting churches told us they are dropping missionary support and we are among the casualties. In addition, our top supporting church has reduced its support from $800 per month to $280 per month. We also have seen personal giving drop off dramatically.
At the beginning of the year, Margie and I had to make a decision! In order to keep from reducing our ministry efforts, especially our radio outreach, we instructed our accountant to lower our personal support by 30%.
However, due to the ongoing decline in donations, we have not received a paycheck for 2 months! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your faithfulness. God has provided for all our needs since the ministry began 50 years ago. Your partnership makes our ministry outreach possible in the Spanish-Speaking-World. Together with the Lord, we can do anything. Recently, one supporting church sent us the following surprise:
"Dear Bruce and Margie,
We know that many of our missionaries and ministries are struggling financially. The difficult economy in the States, deflation of the U.S. dollar, loss of supporters, along with other factors may be making the amount of your support decrease. Our church is making a onetime gift in the amount of $300 to help youduring this time. We pray that God will give you the strength to serve Him, provide you with the needed financial support and continue to bless you and your ministry."
For the same reasons, another dear friend handed me a check for $500!
